— Heygate Council Estate

The Heygate Estate is a large derelict housing estate in South London currently awaiting demolition. At the turn of the millennium the council decided to close the estate and rehouse the inhabitants due to a multitude of problems. Whilst the estate is now 99% empty there still remains controversy over the lack of rehousing for some of the previous tenants. The huge estate now stands empty and has featured primarily as a filming location until its demolition.
